The Sctottish Business Exhibition is part of NS Events Group Ltd, within the same events portfolio as The Northern Business Exhibition and Accounting Live. This Privacy Policy sets out the ways in which all members of the NS Events Group may use your personal data.
 
This privacy policy (this " Policy") explains how personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by NS Events Group and its subsidiaries (collectively, " NS Events Group," " we," “NSE” "our" or " us"). I. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Personal Information. By visiting or using our Sites, we may collect the following categories of personal information (" personal information ") you provide to us: name; email address; postal address; phone number (including your mobile phone number); company name;  job title; survey responses; interests; demographics; saved sessions; searches; sites; marketing responses;   photos of you (such as if you add a photo of yourself to your profile) ; account settings; passwords; customer support and other requests you make through our sites; and other information you may provide about yourself or others to our Sites or to which you provide us with access via third-party platforms.

Device Information. When you visit our Sites or open communications (such as emails) , some information is automatically collected from devices (e.g., mobile, computer, laptop, tablet) used to visit or use our Sites including, but not limited to, operating system, access times, browser information (e.g., type, language, and history), settings, and other data about your device that we use to provide the services or as otherwise described in this Policy (" device information"). We also collect information about your usage and activity on our Sites using certain technologies, such as cookies, web beacons and other technologies (see our cookie policy  for more details).

Personal information, device information, and location information are collectively referred to as "your information."
Our Sites are for persons 16 or older. As such, NS Events Group Ltd does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16.   If you learn that your child has provided us with their information without your consent and he or she is under the age of 16, please let us know at via the contact us form or write to us, as detailed in Section XI below, so we may remove it from our systems.  

II. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We may use your information for the following purposes (" Purposes"), to: provide you with the services, products, and functionality offered on our Sites and fulfill your requests, including, but not limited to, confirming your registration, generating your ticket, sending you your ticket, post show feedback, booking sessions, entering competitions; communicate with you about your account or use of our Sites, services, products and/or functionality; respond to, or follow up on, your comments and questions, and otherwise provide customer service; communicate with you about special offers and other marketing communications; operate and improve our Sites, products, services, and functionality; process and deliver contest entries and rewards; provide information, services and products to our customers; link or combine with other information we get from third parties to help understand your needs and provide you with better service; perform statistical analysis; comply with our policies, procedures and legal obligations; and as otherwise consented to by you and as required or permitted by applicable law.

 If you do not provide us with certain of your information, we may not be able to fulfill the requested Purpose of collection, such as to respond to your queries or provide our Sites to you.

Combined Information. We may combine your personal information with device information and location information (with your consent, where required) to serve you specifically, such as to determine if you attended an event. When we combine personal information, device information and location information in this way, we treat it as, and apply all of the safeguards in this Policy applicable to, your information.

Electronic Communications. Consistent with the above Purposes, we may communicate with you via electronic messages, including email, text message, or mobile push notification to, for example: send you information relating to our products and services, including registration, subject to what you’ve opted in section, below, and/or applicable law, communicate with you about contests, offers, promotions, show news, upcoming events, and other news about products and services offered by us, and other business partners. With your consent, where required , we may contact you at the mobile phone number that you provide to us by way of direct dial calls, and text messages in connection with the above Purposes.

Aggregated Information. We may aggregate personal information collected from you and other users as well as device information and location information (with your consent, where required) to produce general statistics that cannot be linked to you or any other specific user and with which we attempt to provide you with a better experience, to improve our services, and to analyze and understand how our Sites and products are used.

Retention. We will retain your information for the period necessary to fulfill the Purposes outlined in this Policy and as otherwise needed to comply with applicable law and internal company policies.

III. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

Information Shared With Exhibitors and Their Affiliates

We may disclose your personal data selected third parties, where you consent to our sharing your information with for marketing purposes; details these third parties can be found on our “Exhibitor List” page.
We may disclose your personal data to our insurers and/or professional advisers insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining insurance coverage, managing risks, obtaining professional advice and managing legal disputes.
We may disclose your contact details to our suppliers or subcontractors insofar as reasonably necessary for to fulfil an agreement or request made by you.
We may disclose your enquiry data to one or more of those selected third party suppliers of goods and services identified on our website for the purpose of enabling them to contact you so that they can offer, market and sell to you relevant goods and/or services. Each such third party will act as a data controller in relation to the enquiry data that we supply to it; and upon contacting you, each such third party will make available to you a copy of its own privacy policy, which will govern that third party's use of your personal data.
In addition to the specific disclosures of personal data set out here, we may also disclose your personal data where such disclosure is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject, or in order to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of another natural person.
When you are at one of our events you may be issued with a badge to gain entry. If your badge has a bar code and you allow exhibitors to scan the badge, they will receive your contact details. If you do not want to give your contact details to an exhibitor, then do not allow them to scan your badge at the event.

Information You Share Socially

Our Sites may allow you to connect and share your actions, comments, content, and information publicly or with friends. Our Sites may also allow you to connect with us on, share on, and use third-party platforms, including those on which New Start Exhibitions has a presence. Please be mindful of your personal privacy needs and the privacy needs of others as you choose whom to connect with and what to share and make public. We cannot control the privacy or security of information you choose to make public or share with others. New Start Exhibitions also does not control the privacy practices of third-party platforms. Please contact those sites and services directly to learn about their privacy practices.

IV. SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION

We don't store personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of one of our services. We use appropriate technological and operational security measures to protect your information against any unauthorised access to or unlawful use. We will retain your information for as long as is necessary to provide you with the services that you have requested from us or for as long as the law otherwise permits. 

New Start Exhibitions Limited discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organisations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on NS Events Group Ltd behalf or to provide services available at NS Events Group Ltd websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organisations may be located outside of your home country; by using NS Events Group Ltd websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. NS Events Group Ltd will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organisations and sponsors, as described above, NS Events Group Ltd discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required to do so by law, or when NS Events Group Ltd believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of NS Events Group Ltd, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of a NS Events Group Ltd website and have supplied your email address, NS Events Group Ltd may send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what's going on with NS Events Group Ltd and our products. If you do not want to receive marketing and promotional emails from NS Events Group Ltd, you may click on the "unsubscribe" link in the email to unsubscribe and opt-out of marketing email communications. Alternatively, to the extent that applicable law requires your prior opt-in consent to receive marketing and promotional emails, you can choose not to opt-in. Please note that even if you opt-out of receiving marketing communications from one or all of our Sites, we may need to send you service-related communications, such as confirmations of any future registrations that you make.

Text Messages. If you no longer want to receive text messages from NS Events Group Ltd, follow the instructions in the text message.   Alternatively, to the extent that applicable law requires your prior opt-in consent to receive text messages, you can choose not to opt-in.

VII. ACCESS AND CORRECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION

If you have created an online account with us and would like to update the information you have provided to us, you can access your account to view and make changes or corrections to some information. You may also contact us as detailed in the Contact Us section, below.

We have no control over these third party websites, and your use of third party websites and features are subject to privacy policies posted on those websites. We are not responsible or liable for the privacy or business practices of any third party websites linked to our Sites. Your use of third parties' websites linked to our Sites is at your own risk, so we encourage you to read the privacy policies of any linked third party websites when you leave one of our Sites.

 IX. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

Except to the extent limited by applicable law, we reserve the right to update this Policy to reflect changes to our information practices by prominently posting notice of the update on our Sites. Any updates will become effective immediately after posting the updates to this Policy and apply to all information collected about you, or where required, upon your consent. You agree that you will review this Policy periodically. If we make any changes to this Policy, we will change the "Last Updated" date above. You are free to decide whether or not to accept a modified version of this Policy, but accepting this Policy, as modified, is required for you to continue using our Sites. If you do not agree to the terms of this Policy or any modified version of this Policy, your sole recourse is to terminate your use of our Sites.
